OnePlus introduces its new China-exclusive flagship with a 185Hz display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor and 100W wired charging.
OnePlus has officially launched the OnePlus 16 in China, introducing a flagship smartphone featuring a 200MP main camera, a high-refresh-rate OLED display and a substantial 9,000mAh battery.
The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor and offers up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. It runs ColorOS 17 and is available in three colours.
OnePlus 16 display and performance
The OnePlus 16 features a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 1,272 x 2,772 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 185Hz. The screen operates at up to 165Hz during everyday use, with the additional 20Hz available in supported games.
The panel uses BOE’s X4 luminescent material and supports a minimum hardware brightness of just 1 nit. Other display features include slim 1.15mm bezels and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. A 50MP front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls.
The smartphone’s Snapdragon flagship chipset is paired with configurations offering 12GB or 16GB of RAM. Storage options extend from 256GB to 1TB, depending on the variant.
200MP camera system
Photography is another major feature of the OnePlus 16. Its rear camera system includes a 200MP primary sensor measuring 1/1.4 inches, a 50MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and a 50MP ultra-wide camera.
The combination gives users dedicated options for high-resolution photography, zoom shots and wider scenes.
9,000mAh battery and charging
OnePlus has equipped the device with a 9,000mAh battery, alongside support for 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. The capacity represents a major focus on battery endurance, although actual battery life will depend on usage and settings.
The OnePlus 16 comes in Starlight, Dark Forest and Martian Masterpiece colour options.
