Oppo Reno16 Series Launches Globally With Revised Specifications

IT & Telecom

Oppo has officially launched its Reno16 and Reno16 Pro smartphones in global markets, introducing several hardware changes compared with the versions unveiled in China last month.

The global rollout brings different chipsets, battery capacities and display configurations while retaining the premium design and camera-focused features that define the Reno series.

One of the most significant changes is the processor selection. The global Reno16 Pro is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8550 Super chipset, replacing the Dimensity 9500s found in the Chinese model. Meanwhile, the standard Reno16 features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor.

The Reno16 Pro is available with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The Reno16 comes in 8GB/256GB and 8GB/512GB variants.

Battery specifications have also been adjusted for international markets. The global Reno16 Pro features a 6,700mAh silicon-carbon battery, slightly smaller than the 7,000mAh battery offered in China. The standard Reno16 also receives a 6,700mAh battery in selected regions, while European models are equipped with a 6,000mAh unit. Both devices support 80W SuperVOOC fast charging.

On the display front, the Reno16 Pro receives an upgrade with a 144Hz refresh rate AMOLED screen, offering smoother visuals than the 120Hz panel on the standard Reno16. Both smartphones feature 6.32-inch AMOLED displays with Full HD+ resolution, peak local brightness of up to 3,600 nits and optical in-display fingerprint sensors.

The Reno16 Pro retains the same camera setup as its Chinese counterpart. The device features a 200-megapixel primary camera using Samsung’s S5KHP5 sensor, accompanied by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom.

The standard Reno16 uses a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 main sensor while retaining the same ultra-wide and telephoto cameras as the Pro model.

Both smartphones run Android 16 with Oppo’s ColorOS 16 interface and offer IP68, IP69 and P69K ratings for dust and water resistance.

The Reno16 is available in Pop White, Twilight Violet and Dream Purple colour options. The Reno16 Pro is offered in Pop White and Starlight Black finishes.

The global launch expands Oppo’s Reno16 lineup beyond China as the company strengthens its presence in the competitive mid-range and premium smartphone segments.
