Pakistan Celebrates 76th Independence Day with Passion

Karachi, August 14, 2023: Pakistan celebrated its 76th Independence Day with great passion and enthusiasm on Monday. The nation came together to honor the struggles of its forefathers and national heroes in the journey to establish a separate homeland.

Various public and private institutions hosted special events, such as seminars, exhibitions, poetry, and debate competitions, to pay tribute to the leaders of the Pakistan Movement and the sacrifices of national heroes. Schools and colleges also engaged in activities like quiz competitions and historical sessions to educate students about Pakistan’s creation.

Pakistani expatriates worldwide joined in the celebration, organizing cultural gatherings, flag hoisting ceremonies, and rallies to express their love and loyalty to their homeland.

Many businesses and services are also providing special discounts, further enhancing the celebratory spirit.   Special prayers were held at dawn in mosques for the peace, solidarity, and prosperity of the country, followed by gun salutes. A pause across the country signaled the flag hoisting ceremony at 9 am.

The city’s roads, buildings, and public spaces were beautifully decorated with flags and banners, reflecting the festive mood. Illuminations lit up major landmarks, commemorating this important day.
