24-karat gold falls to Rs452,233 per tola as international bullion prices continue to decline

KARACHI, June 8, 2026: Gold prices in Pakistan extended their sharp decline on Monday, with the precious metal losing Rs17,052 per tola over the past three trading sessions amid weakness in international bullion markets.

The price of 24-karat gold per tola fell to Rs452,233, compared with Rs469,285 recorded on June 4, 2026, according to market data.

Bullion market experts attributed the recent volatility to ongoing uncertainty in global markets and geopolitical developments in the Middle East, which have continued to influence investor sentiment and precious metal prices.

On Monday alone, gold prices declined by Rs3,094 per tola from the previous closing level of Rs455,327 in local bullion markets.

Similarly, the price of 24-karat gold per 10 grams dropped by Rs2,785 to Rs386,987, compared with the previous day’s closing level of Rs389,772.

Market analysts noted that despite periodic rallies during periods of heightened geopolitical tensions, gold has remained under pressure in recent months following record highs reached earlier this year.

The precious metal had surged to an all-time high of Rs572,862 per tola in Pakistan on January 29, 2026. However, prices have since witnessed a substantial correction amid changing global market conditions and fluctuations in international demand.

In the international market, gold prices declined by $31 per ounce, settling at $4,298 per ounce, down from the previous closing level of $4,329 per ounce.

Traders said movements in international bullion markets, exchange rate fluctuations and global economic developments will continue to play a key role in determining the direction of domestic gold prices in the coming days.

The latest decline provides some relief to jewellery buyers, although prices remain significantly higher than historical averages despite the recent correction.
