Pakistan issues official petroleum prices applicable till Dec 31

Pakistan has issued official petroleum prices that will remained applicable till December 31, 2022. The official prices of petroleum products from December 16, 2022 to December 31, 2022 are:

Petrol Rs214.80 per liter; high speed diesel Rs227.80 per liter; light speed diesel Rs169 per liter and kerosene oil Rs171.83 per liter.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Saturday in a Tweet explained the significant reduction in petroleum prices by his government during September 30, 2022 to December 16, 2022.

According to the finance minister, the present government brought down the petrol price by Rs22.63 from Rs237.43 as on September 30, 2022 to Rs214.80.

The price of high speed diesel has been reduced by Rs19.63 to Rs227.80 as of December 16, 2022 from Rs247.43 as of September 30, 2022.

Similarly, the price of light diesel oil has been reduced by Rs28.28 to Rs169 as of December 16, 2022 as compared with Rs197.28 as of September 30, 2022.

Likewise, the price of kerosene oil recorded a decline of Rs30.19 to Rs171.83 as of December 16, 2022 when compared with Rs202.02 as of September 30, 2022.

The present coalition government is under immense criticism for not bringing down the prices of petroleum products in line with the fall of oil prices in the global prices.

The finance minister, however, presented some justification to the criticism that his government had made all out efforts to pass on the benefits of reduced oil prices despite challenging economic conditions.
