The stage is set for the inaugural FIH Hockey5s World Cup 2024, and anticipation is running high as teams from across the globe prepare for an epic showdown in the heart of Oman.

In a thrilling ceremony held in Salalah, Oman, the International Hockey Federation officially kicked off this highly awaited tournament. The highlight of the event was the revelation of the pools, setting the stage for some electrifying matches.

From January 24 to 31, 2024, the world will witness 16 men’s and women’s teams battling it out for the prestigious title of the first-ever Hockey5s World Champions in the vibrant city of Muscat, Oman.

FIH President Tayyab Ikram extends his heartfelt congratulations to all 32 teams that have earned their spot in this historic event.

He firmly believes that this tournament ushers in a new era in hockey, with Hockey5s emerging as an exciting and accessible format that will inspire future generations to embrace the sport.

In the women’s competition, Group A features hosts Oman, who will face formidable opponents in Malaysia, Fiji, and the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, Group B showcases Australia, South Africa, Ukraine, and Zambia, forming a powerhouse lineup. Group C comprises India, the United States, Poland, and Namibia, promising an intriguing pool of competition. Lastly, in Group D, New Zealand, Uruguay, Thailand, and Paraguay promise fiercely contested battles.

For the men’s tournament, Group A promises intense clashes with Pakistan, the Netherlands, Poland, and Nigeria going head-to-head. Group B features a formidable lineup with India, Egypt, Switzerland, and Jamaica.

Group C sees Australia, New Zealand, Trinidad & Tobago, and Kenya gearing up for epic confrontations. Finally, in Group D, hosts Oman will lock horns with Malaysia, the United States, and Fiji in what promises to be a thrilling showdown.
