Pakistan Keeps Petrol and Diesel Prices Unchanged for First Fortnight of November 2023

Islamabad, October 31, 2023 – In a recent announcement, the government of Pakistan has opted to maintain the prices of petrol and diesel for the first half of November 2023, providing some relief to consumers at the fuel pumps.

The Ministry of Finance issued an official statement on Tuesday, confirming that the prices of petrol and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) will remain unchanged at Rs 283.38 and Rs 303.18, respectively. This decision comes as welcome news for the general public, as it offers stability in fuel costs during the early days of November.

While petrol and diesel prices are set to stay the same, the government has taken the initiative to reduce the prices of kerosene oil and light diesel oil. Kerosene oil’s price has been decreased by Rs 3.82, making it now available at Rs 211.03, and light diesel oil will be sold at Rs 189.46, after a reduction of Rs 3.40.

The official notification from the Ministry of Finance outlines the government’s commitment to maintaining the current prices of petrol and HSD throughout the next fortnight. These adjusted prices for petroleum products will go into effect on November 1, 2023, providing respite to consumers at a time when global oil prices can be volatile.

This decision reflects the government’s efforts to strike a balance between the need for fiscal stability and the welfare of its citizens. By keeping petrol and diesel prices steady and reducing the cost of other essential fuels, the government aims to ease the financial burden on the public while ensuring economic stability. This approach will likely be appreciated by consumers and various sectors that rely on these essential fuels for their operations.
