Railways authorities say the content creator falsely portrayed a condemned coach as an operational passenger carriage, prompting FIA cybercrime complaint

Pakistan Railways has decided to initiate strict legal action against a YouTuber accused of falsely portraying a condemned railway coach as an operational passenger carriage, according to an official spokesperson.

The spokesperson stated on Saturday that the individual entered a coach that had already been declared scrap and misleadingly presented it as a passenger coach currently in service. Authorities said the act created a false impression regarding the condition and operation of Pakistan Railways’ rolling stock.

Pakistan Railways described the content as misinformation and announced that a formal complaint would be submitted to the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing on Monday to initiate legal proceedings against the YouTuber.

The spokesperson added that the matter would be pursued to its logical conclusion, emphasising that the spread of false and misleading information about public institutions would not be tolerated.

Pakistan Railways reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and responsible communication, urging content creators to verify facts before publishing material that could mislead the public.

The department stressed that inaccurate reporting and the dissemination of unverified information can undermine public trust and create unnecessary concern among passengers regarding the safety and standards of railway services.
