The Pakistan Shaheens cricket team is poised to embark on their white-ball campaign in Darwin, starting on Sunday, August 4th.
The promising young squad will take on the Northern Territory Strike in a 50-over match at the Gardens Oval. This tour marks a crucial opportunity for the Shaheens to showcase their talent on an international platform.
The series will proceed with another 50-over clash against Bangladesh A on Tuesday, August 6th, setting the stage for the eagerly anticipated Top End T20 Series. This prestigious tournament, running from August 9th to 18th, will feature nine teams vying for supremacy.
As the runners-up in last year’s tournament, the Shaheens are determined to leave a mark in this year’s T20 competition. Their campaign will kick off with an intense battle against the Perth Scorchers on August 10th. Competing against formidable teams such as Bangladesh A, ACT Comets, Adelaide Strikers, Melbourne Renegades, Melbourne Stars, and Tasmania, the Shaheens are prepared to face stiff competition.
The Shaheens have made strategic adjustments to their squad for the white-ball series. Unfortunately, fast bowler Kashif Ali has been sidelined due to a thigh injury, and Tayyab Tahir has been selected as his replacement. Additionally, Mohammad Huraira, who delivered an outstanding performance with a double century in the four-day matches, has returned to Pakistan to concentrate on the upcoming red-ball series against Bangladesh.
