The Pakistan Shaheens, under the leadership of Captain Qasim Akram, are gearing up for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
Departing tonight for this prestigious event, the team has secured a spot in the T20 format quarter-finals, thanks to their top-four ICC ranking in the continent.
The quarter-finals are scheduled for October 03 and 04, with Pakistan taking the field on October 03 at the Zhejiang University of Technology Pingfeng Cricket Field in Hangzhou.
Following this, the semi-finals are set for October 06, and the ultimate showdown for gold and the bronze medal match will grace the stage on Saturday, October 07.
To prepare for the tournament, Pakistan Shaheens dedicated five days to training at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore, honing their skills under the guidance of experienced coaches and participating in match simulations.
The squad boasts 15 exceptional players, with seven having previously represented Pakistan in international cricket. Among these talented individuals are Aamir Jamal (2 T20Is), Arshad Iqbal (1 T20I), Asif Ali (21 ODIs, 55 T20Is), Haider Ali (2 ODIs, 33 T20Is), Khushdil Shah (10 ODIs, 24 T20Is), Shahnawaz Dahani (2 ODIs, 11 T20Is), and Usman Qadir (1 ODI, 23 T20Is).
