All 15 squad members participated in an intensive session at Edgbaston ahead of the series finale
Pakistan’s Test squad stepped up preparations for the third and final Test against England with an outdoor training session at Edgbaston on Monday.
All 15 members of the Pakistan squad participated in the practice session as the Green Shirts continued their preparations for the series finale, which is scheduled to begin on Wednesday at Edgbaston.
The training session also featured seven new entrants to the Test squad, including Saim Ayub, Abdullah Fazal, Saad Baig, Arafat Minhas, Mohammad Imran, Razaullah and Mohammad Imran Junior. The newcomers joined the established members as the team worked on various aspects of their game.
The Pakistan Test squad training session included intensive batting and bowling practice in the nets. The coaching staff closely monitored the players, while particular attention was given to fielding, with the cricketers taking part in a series of specialized drills.
The final Test carries considerable importance for Pakistan, who are looking to prevent another series whitewash against England. The visitors have already surrendered the three-match series after losing the opening two Tests.
England secured a convincing 103-run victory in the first Test at Headingley in Leeds before producing another dominant performance at Lord’s. The hosts followed up with a 194-run win to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
Pakistan will now be hoping to finish the tour on a positive note by producing a stronger performance in the final encounter. The visitors will need significant improvements across batting, bowling and fielding departments to challenge the in-form English side.
