National team begins preparations for crucial Test assignments against West Indies and England in the new World Test Championship cycle.

Pakistan’s Test cricket team has arrived in the West Indies to begin preparations for an important overseas assignment that includes a two-match ICC World Test Championship (WTC) series against the hosts. The national squad traveled from Islamabad International Airport and reached Trinidad after transiting through Doha and London.

The tour marks the beginning of a busy red-ball schedule for Pakistan, which will also include a challenging three-Test series against England later this summer. Team management and players are expected to use the West Indies series as an opportunity to build momentum and strengthen their position in the ongoing World Test Championship campaign.

As part of their preparations, Pakistan will participate in a four-day practice match from July 18 to July 21. The warm-up fixture is expected to help players adjust to local conditions and fine-tune their skills before the start of the Test series.

The practice game will also provide the coaching staff with an opportunity to assess player form and finalize combinations ahead of the opening Test.

The two-match Test series against the West Indies will be played under the ICC World Test Championship framework. The contests are scheduled to take place between July 25 and August 10. Cricket fans are anticipating competitive encounters as both teams aim to secure valuable WTC points early in the cycle.

The first Test will be hosted at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Troubadour, while the second match will take place at the historic Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain. Both venues are expected to provide challenging conditions and attract significant local interest.

Following the conclusion of the West Indies tour, Pakistan will immediately shift focus to another major assignment. The national side is scheduled to face England in a three-match Test series beginning on August 19. The England series is expected to be a significant challenge and a key component of Pakistan’s World Test Championship journey.

With consecutive overseas Test series on the horizon, Pakistan will be aiming for strong performances to enhance its standing in international Test cricket and improve its prospects in the World Test Championship.
