Pakistan, UAE Ink Multiple MoUs to Deepen Bilateral Cooperation

Islamabad, April 21, 2025 – Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed a series of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) on Monday, covering key areas such as culture, trade, and consular affairs. These agreements reflect the growing partnership and mutual trust between the two brotherly nations.

The signing ceremony took place during the visit of UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who held high-level talks with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar. The two leaders signed an MoU between the UAE Ministry of Culture and Pakistan’s Culture Division, aimed at promoting cultural exchange, joint initiatives, and artistic collaboration.

Another notable development was the signing of an MoU to establish a Joint Committee for Consular Affairs, which will streamline consular services for citizens of both Pakistan and the UAE, including visa facilitation and expatriate support.

A third key agreement involved economic cooperation. The Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) exchanged an MoU to establish the UAE-Pakistan Joint Business Council. This initiative will serve as a platform for enhancing trade ties, boosting investment, and fostering greater collaboration between the business communities of both countries.

The MoU exchange was conducted by UAE Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs, Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, and FPCCI President, Atif Ikram Sheikh.

Welcoming the UAE dignitary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, DPM Ishaq Dar emphasized the enduring and fraternal ties between Pakistan and the UAE, rooted in shared values and long-standing cooperation. He expressed optimism that these new agreements would translate into tangible benefits for the people of both nations.

In response, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed lauded the warm hospitality extended during his visit to Pakistan, a country he described as “close to our hearts in the UAE.” He reaffirmed his country’s commitment to expanding and deepening its relationship with Pakistan.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the existing pace of engagement and agreed to explore further avenues of collaboration to strengthen their historic and strategic bond.
