PMD forecasts mainly hot and humid weather nationwide, with isolated thunderstorms possible in northeast Balochistan and upper Sindh.

ISLAMABAD, August 24, 2026: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly hot and humid weather across most parts of the country, while northern areas are expected to remain partly cloudy during the afternoon.

According to the PMD weather forecast issued on August 24, weak moist currents are penetrating the southern parts of the country.

The weather department said isolated rain-wind/thundershowers may occur in northeast Balochistan and upper Sindh.

Weather forecast

Most parts of the country are expected to experience hot and humid conditions. However, northern areas may remain partly cloudy during the afternoon.

The PMD advised that isolated rain-wind/thundershowers could develop in northeast Balochistan and upper Sindh.

Weather during the past 24 hours

Hot and humid weather prevailed over most parts of Pakistan during the last 24 hours.

Rain-wind/thundershowers were reported in parts of northeast Balochistan, upper Sindh, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The following rainfall was recorded:

• Balochistan: Sibbi 31mm, Barkhan 23mm and Noshki 1mm.

• Punjab: Multan Airport 9mm and Multan City 1mm.

• Gilgit-Baltistan: Gupis 3mm.

• Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Parachinar 2mm, Dir 1mm, Kalam 1mm and Pattan 1mm.

• Sindh: Larkana 1mm.

Highest temperatures

The highest maximum temperature recorded in the country was 43°C in Turbat.

Nokkundi, Panjgur, Sibbi and Sukkur recorded maximum temperatures of 40°C each.

The PMD said the prevailing weather pattern is being influenced by weak moist currents entering the southern parts of the country.
