PMD forecasts dry conditions nationwide, with hot daytime temperatures likely to persist in plain areas over the weekend.
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast predominantly dry weather across the country over the weekend, with hot conditions expected in plain areas during the daytime.
According to the PMD’s National Weather Forecasting Centre, Islamabad and surrounding areas are likely to experience dry weather on Saturday and Sunday, with daytime temperatures remaining high.
The weather department said continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country, resulting in generally dry conditions and limited chances of rainfall.
Most parts of Pakistan are expected to remain dry on Saturday, while plain areas are likely to experience hot daytime conditions. Similar weather is forecast for Sunday, with no significant change expected in the overall weather pattern.
The forecast indicates that major parts of the country will continue to experience dry conditions, while residents in low-lying and plain regions may face higher daytime temperatures.
During the past 24 hours, dry weather prevailed across most parts of the country, while hot conditions were recorded in the plains. However, isolated rainfall was reported in Khuzdar, which received 1 millimetre of rain.
The highest maximum temperatures recorded during the previous day were 41°C in Dadu and Shaheed Benazirabad, while Mithi and Nokkundi recorded 40°C.
The PMD advised citizens, particularly those living in hotter plain areas, to remain cautious about daytime heat as dry conditions continue.
With no significant weather system currently affecting the country, the department said widespread rainfall is not expected over the next two days.
