ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly hot and humid weather across most plain areas of the country over the next two days, while partly cloudy conditions are expected in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

According to the PMD, continental air is prevailing over most parts of Pakistan, while a shallow trough of a westerly wave is present over the extreme northern areas.

Pakistan weather forecast for Wednesday

On Wednesday, mainly hot and humid weather is expected across most plain areas of Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir are likely to experience partly cloudy conditions.

Similar weather expected on Thursday

The weather pattern is expected to remain largely unchanged on Thursday, with hot and humid conditions continuing across the plains.

Partly cloudy weather is forecast for Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

Weather during past 24 hours

During the past 24 hours, weather remained hot and humid over most plain areas of the country.

However, isolated light rain was recorded in parts of Gilgit-Baltistan, with Babusar receiving the highest rainfall of 5 millimetres.

The highest maximum temperatures recorded during the previous day were:

• Nokkundi: 43°C

• Sibbi: 42°C

• Bhakkar: 42°C

• Dadu: 41°C

• Turbat: 41°C

• Dalbandin: 41°C

• Noor Pur Thal: 41°C

The PMD forecast indicates that hot and humid conditions will persist across most of Pakistan’s plain areas, while northern regions are likely to remain partly cloudy.
