Karachi, August 23, 2023 – Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has delivered a resolute message, affirming that Pakistan will not yield to radicalization, extremism, or intolerance under any circumstances.
Speaking to the media in Karachi, Kakar emphasized that Pakistan is the homeland of its people, and they are determined to lead it forward according to their own vision.
The caretaker Prime Minister’s comments come in the wake of recent acts of terrorism, including the martyrdom of security personnel in Waziristan. Kakar made it clear that such acts of terrorism will not weaken Pakistan’s resolve in the fight against terrorism. He underscored that the war against terrorism is a collective effort of the nation and will not be won or lost by individuals.
“We will neither forget the sacrifices of our martyrs nor shy away from making further sacrifices in the war on terrorism,” stated Prime Minister Kakar, emphasizing the nation’s unwavering determination to combat terrorism relentlessly.
Kakar also highlighted that the war on terrorism is not funded by external donations but is supported by the taxes paid by the people of Pakistan. He commended the bravery and dedication of the nation’s sons, who are serving on the Line of Control, in Waziristan, and other areas, addressing internal and external challenges.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to meet the requirements of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies, Kakar noted that security personnel do not serve or sacrifice for monetary remuneration; rather, their true reward lies in the respect and honor they receive for their service.
The caretaker Prime Minister strongly condemned acts of terrorism and suicide attacks, asserting that Pakistan will continue to fight against such misguided elements within the boundaries of the law.
Expressing satisfaction over the successful rescue operation of eight individuals in the Battagram chairlift incident, Kakar praised the armed forces, district administration, and local communities for their efforts.
He emphasized that Pakistan’s defense institutions are not only safeguarding against external threats but also actively engaged in disaster relief and internal rescue missions, further cementing the nation’s faith in their capabilities.
