Pakistan were bowled out for 55 against India in Dubai, recording their lowest-ever total in women’s T20I cricket.
The Pakistan women’s cricket team endured a dramatic batting collapse on Saturday, recording their lowest-ever total in women’s T20I cricket after being dismissed for just 55 runs against India in the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026.
The ninth match of the tournament was played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium (DICS), where Pakistan opted to bat first in the high-profile encounter against their traditional rivals.
Pakistan initially appeared to have made a steady start as openers Muneeba Ali and Shawaal Zulfiqar negotiated the Indian bowling attack effectively during the opening overs. The pair added 27 runs during the first five overs, giving Pakistan a promising platform.
However, the innings quickly fell apart following the dismissal of Muneeba. India’s Shafali Verma provided the breakthrough by bowling the Pakistan opener, who scored 13 from 15 deliveries, including one boundary.
Shawaal was dismissed in the following over by Shree Charani. The Pakistan batter top-scored for her side with 14 runs from 14 balls, but her departure triggered a rapid collapse.
Gull Feroza was then dismissed without scoring, adding further pressure on the Pakistan batting lineup. Captain Sana also departed for a duck as the team struggled to withstand India’s disciplined bowling attack.
Pakistan subsequently lost their remaining seven wickets for only 26 runs. The collapse left the Green Shirts all out for 55 in 18.1 overs, marking a new unwanted record for the team.
The 55-run total surpassed Pakistan’s previous lowest score in women’s T20Is, which was 56 all out against New Zealand at the same Dubai venue during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2024.
Against India specifically, Pakistan’s previous lowest T20I total was 63 all out, recorded during the 2012 Women’s T20 Asia Cup in Guangzhou, China.
The latest collapse therefore became another difficult chapter in Pakistan’s T20I history, while India gained a significant advantage in the high-stakes Asia Cup clash.
