Pakistan’s 38 companies are showcasing their products at the 140th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) in Guangzhou, China, as the country seeks to expand its international market presence and secure new export opportunities.

Consul General of Pakistan in Guangzhou, Yasir Iqbal Butt, accompanied by Trade and Investment Counsellor Muhammad Imran, visited the Pakistan Pavilion during Phase III of the exhibition at the Canton Fair Complex in Guangdong Province.

During the visit, the Consul General interacted with Pakistani exhibitors, reviewed their products and discussed business prospects. The participating companies expressed satisfaction with the encouraging response from international buyers, reporting promising business leads and potential export orders.

Butt assured exhibitors of the Government of Pakistan’s continued support in facilitating participation in international trade exhibitions and improving access to global markets.

He described the Canton Fair as one of the world’s largest and most influential trade exhibitions, saying Pakistani companies’ participation reflected growing confidence in the platform for international business development.

He expressed hope that sustained participation would help diversify Pakistan’s export basket, strengthen its presence in global markets and contribute to overall export growth.

Of the 38 participating Pakistani companies, 18 are sponsored by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).

The exhibitors are presenting a diverse range of products, including kitchenware, home textiles, sports goods and sportswear, skincare and healthcare products, and stationery.

The 140th Canton Fair is particularly significant as it coincides with the exhibition’s 70th anniversary and the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

Pakistan’s participation highlights the longstanding economic partnership between the two countries and their shared commitment to expanding trade, investment and business-to-business cooperation.
