Pakistan’s rising star in javelin throwing, Arshad Nadeem, has solidified his spot in the much-anticipated Paris Olympics. The awe-inspiring spectacle unfolded as Nadeem unleashed a remarkable throw covering an impressive distance of 86.79 meters.

This extraordinary accomplishment took center stage at the World Athletics Championships 2023, a thrilling event held in Budapest today.

Nadeem’s third attempt during the qualifying rounds propelled a colossal javelin throw of 86.79 meters, launching him into the Olympic limelight and securing his place in the finals of the ongoing World Athletics Championship in Budapest.

Observers from around the globe were treated to a breathtaking display as Nadeem’s javelin gracefully soared through the air, earning him a well-deserved spot in the javelin throw finals, scheduled to take place on August 27 (Sunday).

Positioning himself as a dominant and formidable athlete, the 26-year-old sports sensation, already boasting a gold medal from the Commonwealth Games, emerged as a standout performer in Group B.

He secured an impressive second place overall, trailing only behind India’s Neeraj Chopra. Chopra made an explosive entry with a monstrous opening throw of 88.77 meters in Group A.

By surpassing the demanding qualifying benchmark of 85.50 meters set for the forthcoming 2024 Paris Olympics, Nadeem has undeniably showcased his exceptional prowess and unwavering commitment to the sport.

His unwavering dedication was on full display throughout the qualifying window, which commenced on July 01. Nadeem first caught international attention with a fifth-place finish at the Tokyo Olympics, setting the stage for his meteoric rise in the sports world.

His achievements continued as he secured fifth place at last year’s World Championships. However, his crowning moment arrived at the Commonwealth Games, where he clinched the gold medal with an extraordinary throw spanning 90.18 meters at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
