Rana Mashhood Ahmad, Chairman of the Prime Minister Youth Program, has expressed strong confidence in the exceptional talent of Pakistani children, likening their potential to that of football legends Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

He believes that with the right opportunities and support, these young talents can achieve great heights and make the nation proud.

During a media interaction at the Pakistan Sports Complex, held as part of the Pakistan Street Football Children team’s preparations for the Norway Cup, Mashhood praised the significant contributions of Muslim Hands International in promoting sports, education, and other vital sectors.

He emphasized that these children, given the chance, could bring immense pride to the nation in various fields. “This is not just a street child squad; this is Pakistan’s team,” he asserted, highlighting the importance of viewing these young athletes as representatives of the entire country.

Mashhood took the opportunity to highlight the achievements of Pakistani girls in powerlifting, who have recently won gold medals in their respective competitions.

Reflecting on the vision of Pakistan’s founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Mashhood expressed his belief in a prosperous future for the country, where every individual can thrive. He assured that the government is dedicated to supporting talented children and fostering their growth through the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme.

A modern bio-mechanic lab is also planned to be established for the players, aimed at enhancing their skills and performance through advanced training techniques.

Looking ahead, Mashhood highlighted the upcoming South Asian Games, set to be hosted by Pakistan next year. He also emphasized the importance of focusing on the Youth Olympics, recognizing sports as a global industry that offers vast opportunities for young athletes. “We aim to select teams based on merit in every game,” he said, expressing hope that the street children’s team will bring home the trophy from the Norway Cup.
