KARACHI, April 27 – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday announced that spectators will be allowed to attend all three playoff matches of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 11, following approval from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said the decision was finalized after a meeting with the prime minister, calling it a positive step for cricket fans eager to witness the high-stakes matches in person.
“Pleased to share that we have secured approval for public attendance in all three PSL playoff matches,” Naqvi said in a statement posted on social media platform X.
However, the approval comes with conditions, as the government has urged fans to adopt fuel-saving measures while attending the matches. Naqvi noted that spectators are strongly encouraged to use public transport or minimize fuel consumption in line with ongoing national austerity efforts.
The directive reflects broader government measures aimed at reducing energy consumption amid economic challenges, including high fuel costs and external pressures.
The prime minister also conveyed his best wishes to the four teams competing in the playoffs, expressing hope for competitive and entertaining matches.
The decision to allow crowds is expected to boost the atmosphere of the tournament’s निर्णायक stage, while also supporting commercial activity around the league.
The PSL, Pakistan’s premier T20 competition, has drawn significant local and international attention, and the return of spectators for playoff fixtures is likely to enhance fan engagement and overall tournament momentum.
