Government announces fourth consecutive daily fuel price reduction, bringing petrol down by Rs25.32 and diesel by Rs20.71 since Monday.
Islamabad, November 5, 2026: The federal government has reduced petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) prices for November 6, 2026, providing further relief to consumers amid volatility in international oil markets.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division on Thursday, the petrol price has been cut by Rs9.41 per litre to Rs352.59, while HSD has become cheaper by Rs5.56 per litre to Rs382.25.
This marks the fourth consecutive day of fuel price reductions. Since Monday, petrol prices have declined by Rs25.32 per litre, while diesel prices have fallen by Rs20.71.
The latest reduction follows Wednesday’s revision, when the government lowered petrol and diesel prices by Rs7.06 and Rs3.71 per litre, respectively, for November 5.
Earlier this week, the government announced that oil refineries would bear a financial burden of around Rs15 billion per month to keep domestic petrol prices approximately Rs15 per litre below international market levels amid the US-Israeli war on Iran.
Pakistan introduced a daily petroleum pricing mechanism on July 17, replacing the previous weekly review system to respond more quickly to fluctuations in international oil prices.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a targeted fuel relief scheme on September 13, offering a subsidy of Rs100 per litre to motorcycles, three-wheeler rickshaws and cars with engine capacities of up to 800cc.
The scheme is expected to cover approximately 11.8 million beneficiaries, including 10 million motorcycle users, 800,000 three-wheeler users and one million small-car owners.
The successive fuel price reductions are expected to provide some relief to households and businesses facing high transportation and operating costs.
