PM Shehbaz Commits Unwavering Support to Saudi Investment

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended Pakistan’s steadfast backing to Saudi investment endeavors, promising a conducive environment for investors and businessmen to swiftly execute their projects in Pakistan through joint ventures.

Speaking at a dinner gathering in honor of a Saudi delegation, Sharif emphasized the urgency of overcoming challenges to fully seize the opportunities presented by Saudi leadership and investors.

Sharif reiterated the government’s role in providing policy frameworks and removing bureaucratic hurdles to facilitate foreign investment, stressing that it was not the government’s duty to engage in business directly. He affirmed the commitment to streamline processes for the expeditious achievement of economic targets, highlighting the resolve to eliminate red tape obstructing foreign investment.

Accompanied by Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, federal ministers, and senior officials, Sharif emphasized the significance of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) as a robust mechanism for fostering mutual cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi investors. He expressed satisfaction with the progress made during the delegation’s interactions, anticipating substantial agreements worth billions of dollars in investment.

Reflecting on his recent visit to Saudi Arabia during Ramadan, Sharif praised Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s transformative vision, citing advancements in agriculture, education, IT, infrastructure, and youth empowerment. He commended Saudi Arabia’s remarkable progress under the Crown Prince’s dynamic leadership, positioning the kingdom as a global frontrunner in various spheres.

Acknowledging Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support for Pakistan over the decades, Sharif emphasized the enduring bonds of brotherhood and friendship between the two nations. Saudi Assistant Minister for Investment, Ibrahim Al Mubarak, expressed gratitude to Sharif for the warm reception and underscored the importance of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Al Mubarak highlighted the swift progress in exploring partnerships with Pakistan under the leadership’s directives, emphasizing the strength of the bilateral relationship. He praised the responsiveness of the private sector and envisioned shared economic objectives that both countries could achieve together.
