PM Shehbaz Vows Economic Recovery in Pakistan Day Message

Islamabad, March 23, 2024 – On the occasion of Pakistan Day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has pledged to lead the country towards economic recovery and prosperity.

In his message to the nation, Prime Minister Shehbaz emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing the serious challenges facing Pakistan, including inflation, unemployment, circular debt, fiscal and trade deficits, and the growing scourge of terrorism. He articulated a vision of putting Pakistan on the path to economic stability and prosperity through a comprehensive policy reform framework.

“Felicitating Pakistanis at home and abroad, I assure you that we are dedicated to steering Pakistan towards economic recovery and prosperity with a robust policy reform agenda. I am hopeful that these measures will bring economic stability and alleviate the current wave of high inflation, providing relief to our citizens,” remarked the Prime Minister.

Reflecting on the journey of democracy in Pakistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz highlighted the recent general elections held on February 8, which led to the formation of governments at the federal and provincial levels. He urged the nation to renew its resolve to uphold the principles of peace, progress, and stability envisioned by the founding fathers of Pakistan.

“As we commemorate the Lahore Resolution passed on March 23, 1940, which paved the way for the creation of Pakistan, let us remember the sacrifices and struggles of our forefathers. Their relentless dedication and sacrifices laid the foundation for our nation,” stated Prime Minister Shehbaz.

Acknowledging the challenges faced by the nascent state in its early years, including the settlement of refugees and the establishment of state institutions with limited resources, Prime Minister Shehbaz praised the resilience and dedication of the nation under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

“Inspired by the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam and the unwavering spirit of our people, Pakistan overcame formidable challenges to establish itself as an independent and democratic state,” the Prime Minister added.

Prime Minister Shehbaz concluded his address by urging unity among Pakistanis, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts towards building a Pakistan defined by shared values and aspirations.

As Pakistan commemorates its historic milestones on this Pakistan Day, the commitment of the government to steer the nation towards economic stability and prosperity resonates as a beacon of hope for the future.
