Several parts of Sindh are expected to experience temperatures above 40°C, with Karachi reaching up to 37°C by Tuesday.
KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast hot to very hot weather across Sindh, including Karachi, during the next three days, with temperatures expected to rise further in several parts of the province.
Karachi is expected to record a maximum temperature of 34°C to 36°C on Sunday, with partly cloudy conditions. Temperatures are forecast to remain between 34°C and 36°C on Monday under sunny skies before rising to 35°C to 37°C on Tuesday. Humidity is expected to remain around 74 per cent.
Temperatures to cross 40°C in several areas
At Hyderabad Airport, temperatures are likely to remain between 36°C and 38°C on Sunday and Monday, rising to 37°C to 39°C on Tuesday. Humidity is forecast at around 77 per cent.
Sukkur is expected to experience particularly hot conditions, with temperatures of 38°C to 40°C on Sunday and Monday and potentially 39°C to 41°C on Tuesday. Humidity is expected to be around 75 per cent.
In Thatta, temperatures are forecast at 35°C to 37°C on Sunday and Monday before increasing to 36°C to 38°C on Tuesday. Partly cloudy conditions are expected on Sunday, followed by sunny weather.
Mohenjo Daro could see temperatures of 39°C to 41°C on Sunday and Monday, rising to 40°C to 42°C on Tuesday.
In Dadu, temperatures are likely to reach 40°C to 42°C on Sunday and Monday and could rise further to 41°C to 43°C on Tuesday. Sunny weather is forecast throughout the period.
High temperatures expected in Mithi and Nawabshah
Mithi is expected to record temperatures of 36°C to 38°C on Sunday and Monday, increasing to 37°C to 39°C on Tuesday. Humidity could remain high at around 85 per cent.
Meanwhile, Nawabshah is forecast to experience temperatures of 39°C to 41°C on Sunday and Monday, with the mercury potentially reaching 40°C to 42°C on Tuesday.
The PMD outlook indicates that much of Sindh will remain hot to very hot, with several areas likely to record temperatures above 40°C.
Residents, particularly those in areas facing the highest temperatures, are advised to take precautions against heat exposure, avoid prolonged outdoor activity during peak heat and remain adequately hydrated.
