KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast light drizzle across various parts of Karachi today, with partially cloudy skies expected to persist for the next 24 hours.
The weather update suggests a cooling trend across Karachi, with early morning fog likely to develop in some areas, potentially affecting visibility during peak commuting hours.
According to the PMD, the minimum temperature recorded in Karachi was 21.2°C, while the maximum temperature is anticipated to range between 29°C and 31°C throughout the day. Humidity levels remain high at 83%, while westerly winds continue to sweep through Karachi, contributing to a noticeable drop in temperatures and enhancing the cool weather conditions in the city.
Weather Update for Balochistan Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has reported significant rainfall in different areas of Balochistan over the past 24 hours. Kalat received the highest rainfall at 16mm, followed by Loralai with 4mm and Muslim Bagh with 1mm. These showers have brought relief from dry weather while maintaining cooler temperatures in the region.
The minimum morning temperature in Kalat was recorded at 6°C, whereas Zhob registered 7°C. In Quetta, the temperature dropped to 9°C, while Sibi recorded a minimum of 12°C. Meanwhile, Khuzdar and Panjgur experienced a minimum temperature of 13°C, signaling continued chilly conditions in the province.
Snowfall and Rainfall Across Other Regions Heavy snowfall continues to blanket various regions of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. In Astore, snowfall has persisted intermittently for the second consecutive day, covering upper areas in thick layers of snow. The harsh conditions have disrupted communication networks, making travel and daily activities challenging for residents.
In the upper valleys of Neelum, an enchanting snow-covered landscape has emerged, while the lower regions have experienced intermittent rainfall for the third consecutive day. Meanwhile, Karachi remains unaffected by such extreme weather, maintaining its usual seasonal patterns.
Rainfall has also been reported in Rahim Yar Khan, Ghotki, Obaro, Zafarwal, and other parts of the country. This prolonged wet spell has delayed the complete departure of winter chills, keeping temperatures lower than usual.
The Meteorological Department has also forecast rain in Islamabad, upper and central Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today. However, Karachi continues to enjoy a relatively mild and breezy climate, making it an ideal time for residents to experience cool, pleasant weather conditions.
