PMD Predicts Thundershowers for Islamabad on July 11

Islamabad, July 10, 2024 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted thundershowers for Islamabad on Thursday, July 11, 2024. In its latest weather update, the PMD predicts rain-wind and thundershowers, with isolated heavy falls, across various regions, including upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Pothohar region, upper Punjab, and Kashmir.

The rest of the country is expected to experience hot and humid weather.

Synoptic Situation

According to the PMD, monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea are penetrating the upper and central parts of the country, contributing to the predicted weather changes. Additionally, a shallow trough of the westerly wave is present over the upper regions of Pakistan, intensifying the likelihood of rainfall and thundershowers.
