A westerly wave is expected to bring rain and thunderstorms to Islamabad, Punjab and northern areas on Tuesday and Wednesday, with isolated hailstorms possible.
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain, strong winds and thunderstorms in Islamabad and several parts of the country on Tuesday and Wednesday as a westerly wave affects upper and central regions.
According to the PMD’s weather forecast issued on October 13, 2026, cloudy conditions are expected in Islamabad and surrounding areas on Tuesday, followed by partly cloudy weather with a chance of rain, wind and thunderstorms on Wednesday.
The department said rain and thunderstorms are likely in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad and upper and central Punjab on both days. Isolated hailstorms are also possible during this period.
The PMD attributed the changing weather conditions to a westerly wave affecting most upper and central parts of the country.
In other regions, predominantly dry weather is expected to continue on Tuesday and Wednesday.
