Seven vessels remained engaged at Port Qasim, while 21 ships were at the outer anchorage awaiting berthing and cargo operations.

KARACHI: Shipping activity continued at Port Qasim as two ships carrying palm oil and coal berthed at the Liquid Cargo Terminal and Port Qasim Electric Power Terminal during the last 24 hours.

According to port authorities, Bonita, carrying palm oil, berthed at the Liquid Cargo Terminal, while Sheng An Hai, carrying coal, was accommodated at the Port Qasim Electric Power Terminal.

Meanwhile, six more vessels — MSC Silvia, NYK Constellation, Hafnia Raven, Grand Ocean, Alwine and Alisa-I — arrived at the outer anchorage during the same period.

The vessels are scheduled to handle a range of cargoes, including containers, fuel oil, canola seed, soybean seed and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

Seven ships engaged at Port Qasim berths

A total of seven ships were engaged at Port Qasim berths during the last 24 hours.

Three vessels — FS Bitumen, Khairpur and NYK Constellation — are expected to sail from the port today after completing their respective operations.

The port handled a total cargo volume of 113,093 tonnes during the period under review.

21 ships waiting at outer anchorage

Port authorities said 21 ships were currently present at Port Qasim’s outer anchorage.

Five vessels — NYK Constellation, MSC Silvia, Vosco Trader, Burgan and W-Lion — are expected to take berths today.

The ships are scheduled to handle different cargoes, including containers, cement, gas oil and coal.

The vessels are expected to berth at QICT, MW-1, FOTCO and PIBT, respectively, as part of ongoing port operations.

The latest shipping activity reflects continued cargo handling and vessel movement at Port Qasim, one of Pakistan’s key gateways for energy, industrial and agricultural commodities.
