Karachi, January 5, 2024 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has released a comprehensive report on shipping activity for January 5, 2024, detailing the movement of vessels and cargo handling to facilitate stakeholders.

The report reflects a dynamic and bustling maritime environment at the Port Qasim, showcasing diverse cargo operations.

On Thursday, three ships—Ianthe, FSM, and Bolan—were scheduled to load/offload Bitumen, LPG, and Gas oil. These vessels berthed at the Multi-Purpose Terminal, Engro Terminal, and Oil Terminal, respectively. Additionally, two more ships, Athenian and AnanyaNaree, arrived at the outer-anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours, engaging in the load/unload operations of Containers and Rice, respectively.

Over the past day, a total of eleven ships were actively involved at PQA berths. Among them, the bulk cargo carrier ship ‘Golar Arctic’ left the port in the morning, while two more ships, Genco Aquitaine and FSM, are expected to set sail on the same day. The port handled a cargo volume of 73,365 tonnes, comprising 67,615 tonnes of imports cargo and 5,750 tonnes of export cargo during the last 24 hours.

Currently, there are seven ships at the Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim. Out of these, three ships—Athenian, Oriental Jasmine, and African Sanderling & Trident Star—and Al-Oriaq, carrying Containers, Chemicals, Coal, and LNG, are anticipated to take berths at QICT, EVTL, PIBT, PQEPT, and EETL, respectively, on the same day. Additionally, four more container ships—X-Press Salween, CMA CGM Tosca, MeratusJayakarta, and MSC Shaula—with Containers are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday.
