Karachi, March 21, 2024 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has released its shipping activity report for Thursday, March 21, 2024, providing vital insights into the bustling maritime operations facilitating trade stakeholders.

According to the report, four ships – Maersk Kinloss, Maersk Cabo Verde, Trans Spring, and Gaschem Leda – carrying containers, steel coils, and chemicals, berthed at various terminals including Container Terminal, Multi-Purpose Terminal, and Engro Terminal on Wednesday.

In addition to these arrivals, four more ships – Solar Roma, Sky Runner, PGC Patreas, and Southern Anoa – carrying palm oil, LPG, and chemicals arrived at the outer-anchorage of Port Qasim during the past 24 hours.

During the same period, a total of eleven ships were engaged at PQA berths, with three ships – Maersk Cabo Verde, Kano, and Uog Sparta – departing the port in the morning. Meanwhile, three more ships – Gaschem Leda, Maersk Kinloss, and Beteleur – are expected to set sail in the afternoon.

The port handled a substantial cargo volume of 165,823 tonnes, comprising 119,716 tonnes of imports cargo and 46,107 tonnes of export cargo, which were carried in 3,567 containers (1,866 TEUs of imports and 1,701 TEUs of exports) during the last 24 hours.

Currently, there are 10 ships at the Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, with two ships – Bolan and Patreas – and another ship, APL Southampton, expected to take berths at FOTCO, EVTL, and QICT on March 21st. Additionally, another container ship, Al-Safat, is scheduled to arrive at Port Qasim on Friday.
