Karachi, April 22, 2025 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) released a detailed update on shipping operations for Tuesday, reflecting the port’s ongoing commitment to facilitating smooth maritime logistics.
The report covers activities over the past 24 hours, highlighting vessel movements, cargo handling, and port efficiency.
Port Qasim remains one of Pakistan’s most vital gateways for maritime trade, handling a significant volume of the country’s imports and exports. The latest operations report, issued at 0800 hours, underscores the port’s robust schedule and its capacity to manage complex logistics around the clock.
During this operational period, Port Qasim witnessed the successful sailing of container vessel M.V. Gulf Barakah, which departed at 13:30 hours. Represented by GAC Shipping and docked earlier at QICT-VII, this vessel demonstrated the port’s ongoing efficiency in containerized cargo movement.
In terms of berthing operations, the port welcomed three significant vessels. The M.V. MSC Sarah V, a large container ship managed by Eastwind Shipping, berthed at QT2-I at 11:30 hours. Shortly after, the M.V. Top Fortune, carrying 43,500 metric tons of coal, docked at HFP&S-IV under the agency of Al-Pine Marine at 12:00 hours. Later in the afternoon, M.T. Al Kheesah, an LNG tanker with a substantial cargo of 126,008 metric tons, successfully berthed at PGPCL with coordination by GSA (Pvt) Ltd.
These shipping operations reflect Port Qasim’s expanding role in handling diversified cargo, including containers, coal, and LNG, essential to Pakistan’s energy and industrial sectors. The seamless handling of such varied shipments shows the port’s readiness to support increasing maritime trade volumes.
