Port Qasim Shipping Operations – April 8, 2025

Karachi, April 8, 2025 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) released its daily report on shipping operations to keep stakeholders informed about maritime activities at one of Pakistan’s busiest commercial hubs.

As of 0800 hours on Tuesday, shipping operations at Port Qasim have remained active, with several vessels arriving, departing, or currently berthed.

Port Qasim plays a vital role in handling a large volume of the country’s import and export traffic, and the report reflects another busy day for the port’s logistics and maritime operations. Over the last 24 hours, multiple vessels carrying varied commodities such as coal, gas oil, LPG, containers, and agricultural goods like chickpeas have been managed through its terminals.

Among the vessels that departed from Port Qasim were M.V. WATASUMI, carrying 10,690 metric tons of chickpeas; M.T. KHAIRPUR, which sailed with 60,271 metric tons of gas oil; and M.T. KAISA I, transporting 3,290 metric tons of LPG. Additionally, M.V. SEASPAN SANTOS, a container ship, was also cleared for departure.

Simultaneously, the berthing section of the shipping report highlights several incoming vessels that were accommodated at Port Qasim. M.V. DSI PHOENIX brought in 59,100 metric tons of coal, while M.T. MAERSK BEAUFORT delivered over 26,000 metric tons of palm oil and palm oline. M.T. BOLAN, with a cargo of 59,853 metric tons of MOGAS, also docked successfully.

Port Qasim’s efficient shipping management continues to be evident through the smooth handling of these operations. The coordination between various shipping agents and terminal operators has ensured minimal delays and steady throughput, which is crucial for maintaining supply chains, especially for essential commodities.

Shipping traffic at Port Qasim remains robust, as seen in the handling of LPG vessels such as M.T. AL DIAB II and the berthing of M.T. BITUMEN KOSEI, which brought in 4,400 metric tons of bitumen. These developments underline the port’s significance in energy imports and industrial supplies.

As the maritime sector grows, Port Qasim’s shipping operations continue to reflect the evolving demands of global trade. Frequent and detailed updates from the PQA not only promote transparency but also enable logistics planners, exporters, and importers to make informed decisions regarding shipping activities.
