Port handles coal, containers, Mogas and LPG cargo as nine vessels feature in latest shipping activity
KARACHI: Port Qasim Authority (PQA) recorded the sailing of five vessels, berthing of three ships and shifting of one vessel during the 24-hour period up to 8:00am on August 28, 2026.
According to the latest PQA shipping data, five vessels carrying coal, containers, Mogas and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) were scheduled to sail from the port on Friday.
Five vessels scheduled to sail
The coal carrier M.V Liberty Explorer, registered under PQA No. 37770, has a length overall (LOA) of 200 metres and is carrying 58,986 tonnes of coal.
The vessel is scheduled to depart at 12:00pm from PIBT, with Trade2Shore as its shipping agent.
Container vessel M.V BSG Bimini, with an LOA of 222 metres, is scheduled to sail at 12:30pm from QICT-VII. GAC Shipping is handling the vessel.
Another container ship, M.V MSC Silvia, measuring 300 metres in length, is scheduled to depart at 2:30pm from QT2-II, with MSC Pakistan as its shipping agent.
M.T Nave Cielo, a 228-metre tanker carrying 31,000 tonnes of Mogas, is scheduled to sail at 3:30pm from FOTCO, with Al-Pine Marine as its agent.
Meanwhile, LPG carrier M.T PGC Patreas, measuring 117 metres, is scheduled to depart at 3:30pm from SSGC berth.
The vessel is carrying 3,800.3 tonnes of LPG and is represented by Al-Pine Marine.
Three vessels berth at Port Qasim
Three vessels are scheduled to berth at Port Qasim during the reported period.
LPG carrier M.T Alisa 1, with an LOA of 114 metres, is scheduled to berth at EVTL at 9:00am.
The vessel is carrying 2,550 tonnes of LPG and is being handled by Universal Shipping.
Coal carrier M.V Rui Ning 8, measuring 190 metres, is scheduled to berth at PIBT at 3:00pm.
The vessel is carrying 51,325 tonnes of coal, with Ocean Services as its shipping agent.
Oil tanker M.T Hafnia Raven, with an LOA of 183 metres, is scheduled to berth at FOTCO at 7:00pm.
The vessel is carrying 25,000 tonnes of high sulphur furnace oil (HSFO) and is being handled by Al-Pine Marine.
Vessel shifted between berths
The port also recorded the shifting of M.V Arkas, a 196-metre vessel carrying 55,867 tonnes of coal.
The vessel, represented by GAC Shipping, was shifted from PIBT to another berth at midnight. It had an aft and forward draft of 13 metres.
The latest shipping activity reflects continued handling of bulk commodities, petroleum products, LPG and containerised cargo at Port Qasim.
