PQA Releases Shipping Activity Report for January 23, 2024

Karachi, January 23, 2024 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has provided a detailed shipping activity report for Tuesday, January 23, 2024, offering valuable insights for stakeholders in the maritime industry.

On Monday, January 22, 2024, three ships, namely Conti Courage, Bolan, and Kaisa 1, arrived at the Container Terminal, Oil Terminal, and Engro Terminal, respectively. These vessels carried containers, gas oil, and LPG. Simultaneously, three more ships—MSC Vilda X, Marangas Asclepius, and Limra—with containers and LPG, anchored at the outer port during the previous 24 hours.

Over the last day, a total of seven ships were actively involved at PQA berths. Two of them, Conti Courage and AAI Prelude, departed the port on Tuesday morning, while three others—Ashika Victoria, Bolan, and Mookda Naree—are expected to set sail on Tuesday afternoon.

Cargo handling during the same period amounted to 90,133 tonnes. This included 71,929 tonnes of imported cargo and 18,204 tonnes of exported cargo. Notably, 1,160 containers (429 TEUs imports and 731 TEUs exports) were successfully handled at the port.

As of the latest update, six ships are currently positioned at the Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim. Five of these vessels—MSC Vilda X, Marangas Asclepius, Limra, Charade, and Sea Runner—are scheduled to berth at QICT, SSGC, MW-1, and FOTCO on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. Additionally, two more ships—Maersk Pittsburg and Clemens Schulte—carrying containers, are expected to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.
