President Alvi Calls for Adoption of AI-Based Solutions in Pakistan’s Industries

Islamabad, June 17, 2023: President Dr. Arif Alvi emphasized the urgent need for Pakistan’s business and industrial sectors to embrace Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based solutions to address their challenges and enhance efficiency and productivity.

Speaking to a delegation from the Artificial Intelligence Education Foundation (AIEF) at Aiwan-e-Sadr today, the President highlighted the transformative potential of Information Technology advancements and urged Pakistani IT companies to adopt a global outlook to fully capitalize on emerging opportunities.

Accompanied by Chairman Soliton Investment Fund, Dr. Mansoor Ali Khan, Founder and CEO of Soliton Group, Dr. Fauzia Khan, and a representative from the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, President Alvi underscored the importance of forging mutually beneficial partnerships between academia, industry stakeholders, and IT companies. Such collaborations, he stated, would enable Pakistan to achieve significant economic and technological milestones.

Furthermore, the President emphasized the promotion of skills-based education in the country, emphasizing the need to equip the youth with employable skills through online courses and short-term associate degree programs. He has consistently encouraged stakeholders to produce more skilled graduates, invest in emerging technologies, and implement timely policies for the IT sector.

President Alvi also highlighted the potential of AI-based solutions in providing personalized education to Pakistan’s nearly 27 million out-of-school children, which would otherwise require substantial time and resources. The delegation provided insights into the activities of the Artificial Intelligence Education Foundation (AIEF), which aims to promote AI-based industry solutions on a large scale. The President commended AIEF for its efforts in partnership with local universities and encouraged them to expand their outreach and scope of work.
