Prime Minister Kakar to Attend Belt and Road Forum in China

Islamabad, October 14, 2023 – Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar is set to embark on a visit to China to participate in the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, a significant international gathering that begins in Beijing on Tuesday.

The caretaker Prime Minister’s presence at this influential forum is at the behest of the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, who extended an invitation to him.

During his visit, Prime Minister Kakar will play an active role in the opening ceremony of the forum scheduled for Tuesday. Additionally, he is scheduled to address a high-level forum with the theme “Connectivity in an Open Global Economy” on Wednesday.

As part of his visit, Prime Minister Kakar will also engage in bilateral meetings with the Chinese President, along with senior officials, investors, business leaders, and heads of different countries attending the forum. These discussions are expected to further bolster cooperation and connectivity between Pakistan and China in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative.

The Belt and Road Forum is a platform for fostering international cooperation and promoting economic development and connectivity among participating nations. It brings together leaders and delegates from across the globe to explore opportunities for collaboration in various sectors, ranging from infrastructure development to trade and investment.
