The Proton Saga 1.3L Standard M/T is equipped with a 4-cylinder, inline 16-valve DOHC VVT engine with a capacity of 1299cc. It produces a maximum power output of 91 kW at 5750 rpm and a maximum torque of 117 Nm at 4000 rpm, transmitted through a 5-speed manual transmission.

The Proton Saga 1.3L Standard A/T features the same engine specifications, with power transferred through a 4-speed automatic transmission.

The Proton Saga Ace A/T shares identical engine specifications and delivers power through a 4-speed automatic transmission.
