PSL 10 matches shifted to Karachi amid rising Pak-India tensions

In a significant development, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially decided to relocate all remaining matches of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10 to Karachi.

The move comes in response to escalating tensions between Pakistan and India, which have raised serious security concerns for players, staff, and fans alike.

The decision was finalized during an emergency meeting held at Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday. The high-level session was attended by PSL franchise owners, senior PCB officials, and representatives from various law enforcement agencies. The primary objective of the meeting was to assess the situation and ensure the safety and smooth continuation of the PSL, which has entered a crucial stage.

Following comprehensive deliberations and consultations with all stakeholders, the PCB concluded that shifting the remaining fixtures to Karachi was the most viable and secure option. Karachi, being a major metropolitan city with strong security infrastructure and experience in hosting large-scale events, was seen as the safest venue under the current circumstances.

As a result of the relocation, the 27th match of the tournament — originally scheduled to take place today at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi — has been postponed. The match will now be played at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi, with a new date to be announced shortly.

This strategic move also aligns with the PCB’s broader plan to ensure that preparations for Pakistan’s upcoming T20I home series against Bangladesh remain uninterrupted. The board is determined to minimize disruptions to its domestic and international cricket calendar despite the regional tensions.

While the abrupt venue change poses logistical and operational challenges, PCB officials remain confident that Karachi can successfully accommodate the remaining PSL matches. The city is expected to host high-energy encounters, drawing in passionate fans and maintaining the tournament’s momentum.

The PCB has assured that revised fixtures and updated match timings for the Karachi leg of PSL 10 will be shared with the public soon. With Karachi now at the center of PSL 10’s climax, cricket fans across Pakistan are eagerly anticipating the exciting conclusion of the tournament in the City of Lights.
