Lahore, February 25, 2024 – The twelfth match of the highly anticipated Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 9 witnessed an intense clash between Peshawar Zalmi and Lahore Qalandars, with Peshawar Zalmi emerging triumphant by eight runs in a nail-biting encounter.
Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, Lahore Qalandars aimed to restrict Peshawar Zalmi’s batting prowess. However, Peshawar Zalmi showcased their batting strength, posting a formidable total of 211 for the loss of four wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Saim Ayub played a pivotal role, contributing an impressive 88 runs off just 55 balls, while Babar Azam and Rovman Powell added 48 and 46 runs respectively to the total.
The Lahore Qalandars’ bowling attack was led by Shaheen Shah Afridi, who claimed three crucial wickets for 33 runs in his four overs. Jahandad Khan also chipped in with a wicket, conceding 22 runs in his two overs.

Peshawar Zalmi’s bowlers played a crucial role in defending their total, with Naveen-ul-Haq taking two important wickets for 50 runs in his four overs. Salman Irshad and Paul Walter also contributed by taking one wicket each.
