Entities such as software houses, call centers, banks, embassies, and freelancers can now register their VPNs online via the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA)’s official website. The initiative is also extended to members of the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB).
To register, applicants must complete an online form and provide essential details, including their Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC), company registration information, and taxpayer status.
Freelancers are required to submit supporting documents, such as a letter or email confirming their project or company affiliation. Additionally, they must supply the IP address used for VPN connectivity. Those needing a fixed IP address can obtain it through their Internet Service Provider (ISP).
The PTA has ensured the registration process is user-friendly, free of charge, and efficient, with approvals typically issued within 8 to 10 hours of submission. This streamlined approach has already facilitated the registration of over 20,000 companies and freelancers.
Freelancers requiring VPN services for commercial purposes can register under the “Freelancer” category by providing the necessary documentation, including evidence of their employment or project association.
