The regulator inspected areas across six locations from October 8 to 14, directing operators to address mobile coverage and voice and internet service issues.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has intensified nationwide monitoring of telecom services, directing operators to resolve network coverage and service quality issues identified during inspections across the country.
According to the authority, its 10 zonal offices conducted monitoring activities and service improvement measures from October 8 to 14, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to improve network performance and address consumer complaints.
During the period, PTA officials, working with relevant stakeholders, visited areas in Thatta, Dera Ghazi Khan, Mandi Bahauddin, Quetta, Faisalabad and Gilgit-Baltistan to assess telecom services and identify problems affecting consumers.
Telecom operators directed to address complaints
The inspections focused on mobile network coverage and the quality of voice calls and internet services. Following the assessments, telecom operators were instructed to resolve the identified issues within stipulated timeframes.
The regulator said the monitoring activities were aimed at improving service reliability and ensuring that consumers receive better-quality telecommunications across different parts of the country.
PTA did not disclose the number of sites inspected, the specific operators involved or the total number of complaints identified during the monitoring period.
Faisalabad telecom site issue resolved
The authority also confirmed that an issue concerning the closure of a telecom site in Faisalabad had been successfully resolved.
The development highlights the role of coordination between the regulator, telecom operators and other relevant stakeholders in addressing infrastructure-related problems that can affect network availability.
PTA continues nationwide oversight
The PTA said it would continue working with relevant organisations, telecom operators and local administrations to improve telecom services throughout Pakistan.
The monitoring programme forms part of the regulator’s broader oversight efforts to address consumer concerns, improve network performance and encourage the delivery of reliable mobile and internet services.
The authority’s latest activities cover locations in Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan, reflecting its continued focus on service quality across multiple regions.
