ISLAMABAD – In a move to express unwavering support and solidarity with the people of Kashmir, the Government of Pakistan has officially declared February 5, 2019, as a Public Holiday.
This decision applies to all provincial governments, as well as the regions of Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K), and the Islamabad Capital Territory.
The announcement was made through a press release issued by the Ministry of Interior on Monday, highlighting the government’s commitment to standing alongside the people of Kashmir in their quest for self-determination and resolution of the longstanding issue.
In addition to declaring a public holiday, the statement issued by the Ministry of Interior has also requested all citizens to observe one minute of silence at 10:00 a.m. on February 5, 2019.
