Islamabad, February 3, 2025 – Several districts of Punjab province are expected to experience thunderstorms on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, as per the latest forecast by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The weather across Punjab is predicted to remain mainly cold and dry, although partly cloudy conditions may prevail in some areas.
According to PMD officials, certain districts of Punjab, including Murree, Galiyat, and their surrounding regions, may witness light rain, strong winds, and isolated thunderstorms, with snowfall likely in the higher elevations. Additionally, districts such as Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, and Jhelum are also expected to receive light rain accompanied by winds and occasional thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, light to moderate fog patches are expected in several northeastern Punjab districts, including Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, and Hafizabad, particularly during the early morning hours. The presence of fog could impact visibility and transportation in these areas.
The PMD further stated that on Monday night, February 3, 2025, the weather is expected to remain cold and dry across most districts of Punjab, while Murree, Galiyat, and surrounding high-altitude areas will likely experience very cold conditions. At the national level, the PMD highlighted that continental air is currently prevailing over most parts of the country, with a westerly wave expected to approach the western and upper regions of Pakistan later tonight.

Monday: Cold and dry weather is anticipated across most of Pakistan, with the possibility of rain and snowfall in isolated areas of northwestern Balochistan and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Tuesday: Cold and dry weather will persist in most regions, but parts of Kashmir, northeast Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are likely to experience scattered rain showers, wind, and thunderstorms, with snowfall expected over the mountainous areas. Fog patches will also develop in northeastern Punjab during the morning hours.
Past 24-Hour Weather Overview: Cold and dry conditions dominated most parts of the country, with very cold weather observed in mountainous regions. Shallow to moderate fog was reported across northeastern Punjab.
