Punjab Prepares for Prolonged Dry Weather Conditions

Islamabad, February 22, 2025 – The Punjab weather is expected to remain dry over the next 24 hours following recent rainfall across various regions.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted a continuation of dry conditions across most districts, with only a few areas experiencing partly cloudy skies. In Murree, Galyat, and adjacent regions, cold weather is likely to persist, with partially overcast conditions adding to the chill.

According to PMD reports, Punjab weather has transitioned into a dry phase as the rain-bearing system that previously impacted several parts of the province, including Lahore, has now moved away. With the departure of this system, the province is set to experience stable yet cold weather conditions. Although the rain and snowfall in northern mountainous areas have subsided, their lingering effects are still noticeable, particularly in higher altitudes.

In Lahore, today’s minimum temperature was recorded at 9°C, while the maximum is expected to reach 23°C. Dry and cold conditions are forecasted to dominate most parts of Punjab, with minimal chances of cloud cover. The Punjab weather outlook also indicates that cities such as Faisalabad, Multan, and Rawalpindi will continue to experience similar dry and chilly conditions in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the dry weather trend extends beyond Punjab, affecting other provinces as well. In Sindh, weather conditions will remain mostly dry, with some areas potentially experiencing light cloud cover. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is also expected to witness predominantly dry and cold weather, with upper regions facing more severe cold conditions. Similarly, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will experience cold temperatures with intermittent cloudiness, while Balochistan’s southern districts will see dry weather, and its northern areas will endure harsher cold spells.

The Punjab weather forecast suggests that this dry spell will persist through the weekend, with no immediate chances of precipitation. The ongoing cold conditions will particularly affect northern and central parts of the province, making it essential for residents to take necessary precautions against the cold. As Punjab prepares for extended dry weather, authorities advise people to stay updated with weather reports to navigate the changing climatic conditions effectively.
