Punjab Transporters Slash Fares by Over 15% Following Fuel Price Cut

National Pakistan

Passengers across Punjab welcome lower travel costs as transport operators pass on benefits of reduced petroleum prices.

The recent reduction in petroleum product prices has started delivering tangible relief to the public, as transporters across Punjab have lowered fares by more than 15 percent.

The move has been widely welcomed by passengers, particularly in Lahore, who have appreciated the significant decline in fuel prices announced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Transport operators have revised ticket prices on several major intercity routes, providing much-needed relief to travelers amid rising living costs.

Passengers have expressed satisfaction over the reduction, saying that lower transport charges will ease the financial burden on families and regular commuters.

Lahore-Rawalpindi and Peshawar Routes Become Cheaper

According to the revised fare structure, the ticket price from Lahore to Rawalpindi has been reduced from Rs3,500 to Rs3,000. Similarly, passengers traveling from Lahore to Peshawar will now pay Rs3,700 instead of the previous Rs4,200.

The fare from Lahore to Sargodha has also been reduced from Rs1,670 to Rs1,470. Meanwhile, travelers heading to Faisalabad will now pay Rs1,350 compared to the earlier fare of Rs1,530.

Lower Ticket Prices Announced for Multan and Bahawalpur

Transporters have also reduced fares on southern Punjab routes. The Lahore-Multan fare has been cut from Rs2,900 to Rs2,550, while passengers traveling to Bahawalpur will now pay Rs3,080 instead of Rs3,500.

Likewise, the fare from Lahore to Swat has been lowered from Rs4,330 to Rs3,810. The ticket price for Murree-bound passengers has been reduced from Rs4,140 to Rs3,650.

Significant Relief for Long-Distance Travelers

Long-distance travelers have also benefited from the revised fare schedule. The fare from Lahore to Karachi has been reduced from Rs9,720 to Rs8,560, while the ticket price for Hyderabad has been cut from Rs9,490 to Rs8,350.

The fare reductions reflect the impact of lower petroleum prices and are expected to provide widespread relief to passengers across Punjab, particularly those who frequently travel between major cities.
