Islamabad, February 5, 2025 – Punjab is set to experience very cold and dry weather over the next 24 hours, with isolated rain and thunderstorms expected in some districts.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued an update predicting that most areas of Punjab will remain cold and dry, while northern regions, including Murree and Galiyat, may see light snowfall.
According to the PMD forecast, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most districts of Punjab on the night of February 5, 2025. However, certain areas, including Murree, Galiyat, and their surroundings, may witness cloudy conditions accompanied by light rain and thunderstorms. The Pothohar region—encompassing Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Talagang, and Jhelum—could also experience occasional drizzles or light rain.
By Thursday, February 6, 2025, Punjab is expected to continue facing cold and dry conditions. However, Murree, Galiyat, and adjacent areas may remain very cold and partly cloudy, with a chance of intermittent light rain and snow.
National Weather Overview
At the national level, the PMD reported that a continental air mass is dominating most parts of the country, while a shallow westerly wave is affecting northern areas. This system is contributing to colder temperatures, particularly in Punjab’s northern regions, as well as parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.
