Dry weather to prevail across Punjab, rain possible in upper areas

PMD forecasts dry conditions across most of Punjab on Thursday and Friday, with isolated rain and thunderstorms expected in Murree, Galiyat and Potohar.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast predominantly dry weather across most districts of Punjab on Thursday and Friday, with partly cloudy conditions and isolated rain or thunderstorms expected in several northern areas.

According to the PMD forecast issued on October 8, dry weather is expected across most parts of Punjab on Thursday. However, partly cloudy conditions accompanied by rain, wind and thunderstorms may occur in Murree, Galiyat, Jhelum and adjoining areas.

On Friday, most districts of Punjab are again expected to experience dry weather. Partly cloudy conditions with rain, windstorms or thunderstorms are likely in Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum and surrounding areas during the evening and night.

At the national level, continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country. PMD has forecast dry weather across most areas on Thursday, with daytime temperatures remaining hot in the plains. Isolated rain and thunderstorms may occur in Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas during the afternoon.

On Friday, dry weather is expected across most parts of the country, while plain areas are likely to remain hot during the daytime. Upper parts of the country are expected to remain partly cloudy, with isolated rain, windstorms and thunderstorms possible in lower and central Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and the Potohar region during the evening and night.

During the past 24 hours, weather remained dry across most parts of Pakistan. Sialkot city received 1mm of rainfall.

The highest maximum temperatures recorded during the previous day were 42°C in Turbat, 40°C in Sibbi and 38°C in Sahiwal.
