Islamabad, April 13, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather advisory predicting gusty winds across the plain areas of Punjab on Monday, April 14, 2025. According to the latest forecast, the province will experience hot and dry conditions, with daytime temperatures soaring significantly above average.
The PMD stated that most districts in Punjab are likely to face gusty winds during the afternoon hours, accompanied by rising temperatures. These winds may lead to dust-raising conditions in open and less populated areas, especially in central and southern Punjab. Daytime temperatures are forecasted to remain 03 to 05 degrees Celsius above normal, intensifying the hot weather conditions already being experienced in the region.
The ongoing synoptic situation, as described by PMD, reveals that a spell of continental air is currently dominating much of Pakistan. This weather pattern is responsible for the dry conditions expected not only in Punjab but also in adjacent regions, including Kashmir. No rainfall is expected during this period, further contributing to the prolonged dry spell.
In its extended outlook, the PMD has also highlighted the likelihood of gusty winds occurring intermittently throughout the week in various plain areas of Punjab. These winds, while potentially providing brief relief from the heat, could cause minor disruptions, especially in areas with loose soil, agricultural fields, or ongoing construction work.
For Sunday, the PMD forecasts continued dry weather across most districts of Punjab and the Kashmir region. However, residents are advised to stay prepared for changing weather patterns, particularly as gusty winds may return with greater intensity on Monday. Visibility on rural roads may be reduced temporarily due to blowing dust.
Authorities in Punjab have been urged to take necessary precautions, particularly in areas prone to wind-related disturbances.
